CE Motorcycle
Riding Pants —
4-Layer All-Season

4000mm Waterproof · CE Knee + Hip · Removable Thermal Liner · Flame-Retardant · Anti-UV · S–5XL

A four-layer system in a single pair of pants: 600D Oxford outer shell with PU coating, fixed polyester mesh lining, removable 4000mm waterproof layer with taped and heat-sealed seams, and a removable double-layer warm liner with 120g insulation. CE certified knee protectors and hip pads are included. Removing or combining the inner layers configures the pants for summer (outer + mesh only), spring/autumn (add waterproof layer), or winter (all four layers).

Layer Construction
Outer shell: 600D84T Oxford cloth with PU coating and DWR water-repellent treatment — the 600D weave provides abrasion resistance at knee, hip, and seat zones; the PU coating adds scuff resistance and a secondary water barrier at the outer surface.
Fixed mesh lining: Polyester mesh bonded to the shell interior — allows airflow across the leg surface and wicks moisture away from the skin when the waterproof layer is not installed. This layer is permanent and cannot be removed.
Removable waterproof layer: 190T polyester with PU coating rated to 4000mm hydrostatic head — all seams are taped and heat-sealed, eliminating needle-hole ingress points that are the primary water entry route in sewn waterproof garments. Zip out for warm-weather use; zip back in before riding in rain.
Removable thermal liner: Double-layer 210T polyester with 120g warm filling — the outer 210T layer faces the waterproof layer; the inner layer faces the mesh lining. 120g fill weight provides meaningful insulation for temperatures down to approximately 5–10°C; below this a base thermal layer underneath the pants is recommended.
Feature Performance
💧
4000mm Hydrostatic Head
The 4000mm rating means a 4-metre column of water can press against the fabric for one minute before the first drop penetrates. For motorcycle riding, sustained highway rain creates approximately 1000–1500mm of equivalent pressure — the 4000mm rating provides a 2–3× safety margin above normal riding conditions. Taped and heat-sealed seams eliminate the needle-hole channels that allow water to wick through even a waterproof fabric at sewn joints.
🛡️
CE Knee Pads + Hip Padding
CE certified knee pads meet the EN 1621-1 standard for motorcycle protective equipment — independently tested to a defined maximum force transmission at specified impact energy. The hip pads provide additional energy absorption at the greater trochanter. Both protector sets are removable, allowing the pants to be used without armour for non-riding use and reinstalled before departure.
🌬️
Breathable + Windproof Balance
The fixed polyester mesh lining allows moisture vapour to escape outward through the outer shell when the waterproof layer is not installed. With the waterproof layer in place, breathability is reduced — the sealed waterproof layer slows vapour transmission in exchange for rain protection. This is the fundamental trade-off of any waterproof textile system and is not a product limitation; it is physics.
🔥
Flame-Retardant Treatment
Chemical treatment bonded to the Oxford cloth outer inhibits ignition at heat sources — slows flame propagation from exhaust contact, engine proximity, and road friction events. The treatment is applied to the outer layer; the inner removable layers are not separately treated, which is appropriate since they are shielded by the outer shell in normal use.
☀️
Anti-UV Outer Shell
UV-blocking compounds in the 600D Oxford cloth reduce ultraviolet transmission to the skin. Dense Oxford weave at 600D already provides a higher UPF than lightweight fabrics by blocking more UV through fibre density alone — the anti-UV treatment adds a further blocking layer to the fibre surface for extended sun exposure on open-road touring routes.
⚙️
Adjustable Layer Configuration
The three removable/adjustable configurations cover the practical riding temperature range: outer + mesh only (warm weather, above ~20°C), add waterproof layer (rain or below ~15°C), add thermal liner (cold weather, below ~10°C), all four layers (winter below ~5°C with base layer). The hip and waist adjustment accommodates the additional bulk when all inner layers are installed.
Key Highlights
No. 1
4000mm — What the Number Means in Practice
Hydrostatic head is not a duration rating — it describes pressure resistance, not how long the fabric stays dry in rain. At 4000mm, the pants withstand sustained pressure equivalent to a 4-metre water column, which comfortably exceeds the pressure generated by motorcycle riding in heavy rain. The seam tape is the critical element: an untaped 10,000mm fabric leaks faster through its seams than a taped 4000mm fabric under identical conditions.
No. 2
Protector Position — Check in Riding Posture
CE protectors protect only the anatomy they cover. After first fitting, sit on the motorcycle and confirm the knee pad sits centred over the patella and the hip pad covers the outer hip prominence (greater trochanter), not the upper iliac crest. Pants that sit too low shift both protectors below their intended zones. Adjust the waistband height until both pockets align correctly before riding.
No. 3
Layer Removal — Don't Leave the Waterproof Layer at Home
In summer, most riders remove the waterproof layer for comfort. Weather conditions can change during a ride — the removable layer is compact enough to be rolled and stored in a tank bag or top case rather than left at home. A waterproof layer stored on the bike costs nothing in comfort during dry weather and eliminates the wet-ride scenario where it would be needed.
No. 4
Waist Measurement Has Two Columns
The size chart provides both a standard waist and a relaxed waist measurement. The relaxed waist is what the pants sit at when the elastic waistband is at its natural expansion — the standard waist is the fitted measurement. If you measure between the two columns for your size, you will find the pants comfortable without adjustment. If your natural waist exceeds the standard waist column for your hip size, the waistband will require adjustment to fit.
No. 5
Pants Length Plateaus at 3XL–5XL (112cm)
Pants length increases from 102cm (S) to 112cm (3XL), then stays at 112cm for 4XL and 5XL. Riders at 4XL or 5XL with longer legs than the average for that size will find the inseam shorter than their inside leg measurement. Measure your inside leg from crotch to floor with boots on — if it exceeds 112cm, confirm with the seller whether a longer inseam option is available before purchasing.
No. 6
Leg Opening and Boot Compatibility
Leg opening steps from 17.4cm (S) to 21.9cm (5XL). The leg opening must clear the motorcycle boot shaft — standard adventure and touring boot shafts typically measure 35–42cm in circumference (17.5–21cm diameter). Confirm your boot shaft circumference against the leg opening column for your size; a cuff that cannot sit over the boot creates a gap in the lower leg protection zone and bunches uncomfortably inside the boot.
Construction Zone Detail
01
Outer Shell Abrasion Resistance
600D Oxford cloth means 600 denier filament — a higher denier indicates thicker individual fibres and greater resistance to abrasion from road surface contact. The 84T designation refers to the thread count per inch, contributing to weave tightness. Combined with PU coating, the outer surface resists the progressive abrasion from footpeg contact, saddle movement, and minor scrapes that degrades lower-denier fabrics rapidly.
02
Taped Seam Construction
Seam tape is applied to the inside of the 190T waterproof layer — a heat-bonded strip covers every needle hole created during sewing. Water wicking through needle holes is the most common failure mode of sewn waterproof garments at rated pressures; a taped seam eliminates this pathway entirely. Inspect the seam tape at the inner crotch and lower leg cuff after heavy use — these zones experience the most flexion stress and are the first where tape can lift at its edges.
03
Knee Protector Pocket Positioning
The knee pocket must hold the CE pad over the patella in both standing and seated positions — the pocket's geometry constrains the pad from migrating toward the shin during the knee's full flex-extension range in riding. After installation, flex the knee through its full range while seated on the bike and confirm the pad does not shift position. A pad that migrates provides coverage at the wrong anatomical zone at the moment of impact.
04
Hip Protector Pocket
The hip pad pocket is positioned over the greater trochanter — the lateral prominence at the upper femur that contacts the ground first in a lateral fall and where hip fracture risk is highest without energy absorption. Confirm the pocket sits over this zone when the pants are at their correct wearing height. The greater trochanter is typically 10–15cm below the waistband in a standing adult; adjust the waistband height until the pocket aligns before the first ride.
05
Waterproof Layer Zip System
The removable waterproof layer attaches via a zip system at the waistband and possibly at the leg cuffs. After reinstallation, confirm the zip is fully closed at all attachment points — a partially open zip creates a direct ingress point at the gap. After removing for summer storage, roll the layer loosely and store away from heat and direct sunlight, both of which degrade PU coatings over extended exposure.
06
Thermal Liner Loft Maintenance
The 120g warm filling in the thermal liner maintains insulation through trapped air in its fill structure — compressing the liner under heavy objects during storage permanently mats the filling and reduces effective loft. Store the liner hanging or loosely folded. After machine washing (cold, gentle cycle), tumble dry on low or air dry — heat drying at high temperature degrades the polyester fill and reduces the liner's insulation recovery after washing.

  • Size to your hip — check both waist columns: The chart provides standard waist (fitted) and relaxed waist (elastic expansion). If your hip and waist measurements suggest different sizes, choose the hip size — protector pocket position scales with hip measurement. Use the waistband adjustment to manage any excess at the waist rather than undersizing at the hip and misaligning the protection zones.
  • Pants length stops at 112cm from 3XL upward — measure your inside leg: Measure inside leg from crotch to floor with boots on. If your inside leg exceeds 112cm and you need 3XL, 4XL, or 5XL at the waist and hip, confirm with the seller whether an extended inseam is available before ordering. 1–3cm excess length sits above the boot shaft; 5cm or more requires folding or tailoring.
  • Confirm leg opening clears your boots: Leg opening runs 17.4cm (S) to 21.9cm (5XL) in diameter. Measure your boot shaft circumference and halve it for comparison — a circumference of 40cm = 20cm diameter. If your boot shaft diameter equals or exceeds the leg opening for your size, the cuff will not fit over the boot. Contact the seller to confirm fit at your specific size before purchasing.
  • Keep the waterproof layer with the pants, not at home: In warm weather it is tempting to leave the waterproof layer behind to reduce bulk. Roll it and store it in a tank bag or rear box — the layer is compact and adds negligible weight. Unexpected rain without the layer means the outer Oxford shell's surface DWR is the only waterproofing, which is not rated to 4000mm and will saturate in sustained rain.
Size Guide

Provide your height, weight, waist, and hip measurements for the best recommendation. If waist and hip suggest different sizes, size to the hip. Pants length plateaus at 112cm from 3XL upward — measure your inside leg before ordering large sizes.
