Furygan AFS-6
Leather Motorcycle
Racing Gloves

Goatskin + Leather · CE Certified · Windproof · Breathable · Touchscreen · Non-Slip · Summer

The AFS-6 combines a goatskin leather palm with a premium leather outer — goatskin's thinner, denser fibre structure provides the tactile sensitivity needed for throttle and brake feel, while the full leather shell handles abrasion resistance and windproofing. CE certified, touchscreen-compatible fingertips, breathable construction, non-slip grip, and an adjustable buckle wrist closure in a 263g unisex glove sized S to 2XL.

Material & Feature Performance
🐐
Goatskin Palm + Leather Shell
Goatskin is used at the palm because its fibre structure is finer and more tightly interwoven than standard cowhide — it is thinner for the same abrasion resistance, which preserves tactile sensitivity through the lever contact zone. The full leather outer shell handles windproofing and structural abrasion protection across the back of the hand, knuckles, and finger backs where goatskin would add unnecessary weight.
💨
Windproof + Breathable Balance
Leather's natural fibre density blocks wind penetration without requiring a sealed membrane — the same property that makes it windproof. Breathability comes from perforations or mesh panels at the back of the hand and between the fingers, allowing heat and moisture vapour to escape outward while the solid palm and finger panels face into oncoming airflow. This is why the AFS-6 is rated for summer: the ventilation is sufficient for warm conditions, but the construction provides no insulation in cold weather.
📱
Touchscreen-Compatible Fingertips
Conductive material embedded at the index finger and thumb fingertips allows capacitive touchscreen response without removing the glove. The conductive zones are limited to these two fingertips — the palm, wrist, and remaining fingers are standard leather and will not trigger screen inputs, which prevents accidental activation when gripping the handlebar or tank.
🤝
Non-Slip Grip
Textured or rubberised material across the palm and inner finger surfaces increases the friction coefficient between the glove and the handlebar grip. On a leather glove that may become damp from sweat or light rain, the non-slip zones maintain consistent throttle and brake control by preventing the hand from rotating on the bar surface under load — particularly relevant during sustained braking.
⚖️
Lightweight Construction — 263g
At 263g gross packaged weight, the gloves themselves are significantly lighter — the package weight includes box and materials. Lightweight construction in a motorcycle glove reduces hand fatigue during long rides where vibration is continuously transferred through the grip, and preserves fine motor control at the lever by not adding inertia to finger movement during rapid throttle or brake inputs.
🏅
CE Certification
CE certification for motorcycle gloves (EN 13594) tests impact cut resistance, abrasion resistance of the palm zone, and retention system security under load. A CE-certified glove has been tested by an independent laboratory to these specific parameters — not self-declared. The certification applies to the complete glove assembly; aftermarket modifications or replacement of certified components invalidate the certification.
Key Highlights
No. 1
Summer Rating — Not All-Season
The AFS-6 is rated for summer use. The breathable ventilation panels that make it comfortable above 20°C allow air to reach the hand — the same openings that cool in warm conditions create a cold channel in low temperatures. Below approximately 10°C, an unlined leather glove with ventilation panels will not retain sufficient hand warmth for sustained riding. For cooler seasons, a windproof lined glove is the appropriate choice.
No. 2
Two Measurements — Use Both
The size chart provides palm circumference (around the widest part excluding the thumb) and palm width (across the back of the hand). Both measurements are needed because some riders have a palm circumference that falls in one size while their palm width falls in another — wide, flat hands versus narrower, rounder hands. If the two measurements suggest different sizes, choose the larger to avoid constriction across the knuckle zone.
No. 3
Goatskin Maintenance
Goatskin's fine fibre structure that makes it supple and sensitive also makes it more susceptible to drying and cracking than thicker cowhide. Apply a leather conditioner appropriate for goatskin every 4–6 weeks during regular use — conditioning prevents the fibre matrix from drying out and stiffening, which would reduce the tactile sensitivity that makes the palm material worth using. Do not use conditioners containing silicone, which coat the surface and reduce grip.
No. 4
Buckle Wrist Strap Fit
The adjustable buckle wrist closure sets how tightly the glove cuffs at the wrist — the correct setting allows full wrist flexion without the glove pulling back along the hand. Too loose and the glove migrates toward the fingertip under brake load, pulling the knuckle protection zone off the joint; too tight and it restricts blood flow to the fingers during extended riding, accelerating the same cold and numbness the glove is designed to prevent.
No. 5
Racing vs Touring Use
The AFS-6 is listed for both racing and touring applications. The construction priority is tactile feedback and abrasion protection — the goatskin palm and CE certification address the abrasion risk of a slide. For circuit racing at sustained high speed, check whether the CE rating meets the standard required by your track or series (EN 13594 Level 1 or Level 2), as some venues specify a minimum protection level that must be confirmed before trackday admission.
No. 6
Measurement Tolerance Is 0.5–1.0cm
The manufacturer states a 0.5–1.0cm manual measurement error range — narrower than some competing products but still meaningful at the boundaries between sizes. S covers 16–17cm and M covers 18–19cm, with a 1cm gap between them. If your palm circumference measures exactly at a boundary (17cm or 19cm), take the measurement three times and use the largest reading before deciding which size to order.
Construction Zone Detail
01
Goatskin Palm Zone
The goatskin panel covers the full palm contact surface — from the heel of the hand across the inner fingers to the fingertip pads. This is the zone in direct contact with the brake lever, clutch, and throttle at all times. Goatskin's low thickness at equivalent abrasion resistance means the rider feels lever position and pressure through the glove rather than through a thick buffer.
02
Leather Dorsal Shell
The back-of-hand leather panel provides the primary abrasion and wind barrier on the surface exposed to oncoming airflow. In a slide, the dorsal surface contacts the road after the palm — the leather shell must resist abrasion long enough to allow the rider's momentum to dissipate. CE EN 13594 abrasion tests assess this zone independently from the palm panel.
03
Ventilation Panel Placement
Breathable panels or perforations are positioned at the back of the hand and between finger channels — zones not in direct handlebar contact and not the primary abrasion surfaces in a fall. This placement allows airflow without compromising the palm abrasion zone or the dorsal leather that faces road contact in a slide. Ventilation zones should be inspected periodically; tears or delamination at perforations reduce both airflow and structural integrity.
04
Touchscreen Fingertip Material
Conductive silver-fibre or metallic thread is woven into the index finger and thumb fingertip panels. The conductive thread maintains electrical continuity from the fingertip to the screen surface — the same mechanism as a bare finger on a capacitive panel. Repeated bending at the fingertip accelerates thread fatigue; if touchscreen response becomes unreliable, the conductive thread at that fingertip has likely fractured and the glove should be replaced if this function is critical.
05
Non-Slip Palm Surface
Rubber or silicone grip pads are bonded to the goatskin at the primary grip contact zones — the lower palm and inner finger pads where the hand wraps the handlebar. The bonding method between the grip material and leather determines durability; inspect the grip pad edges after extended use for lifting or delamination, which reduces grip performance on wet surfaces before it is visually apparent on dry ones.
06
Adjustable Buckle Wrist Closure
The buckle strap at the wrist allows the cuff to be sized to the rider's wrist circumference independently of glove size — relevant for riders with narrower or broader wrists than the glove's nominal size assumes. The correct fit leaves the strap secure without requiring force to operate and allows the wrist to flex to a 90° angle without the buckle hardware contacting the wrist bone under the cuff.

  • Take both measurements — palm circumference AND palm width: The chart uses two columns precisely because hand shape varies. Wrap a tape around the widest palm point excluding the thumb for circumference. Then measure straight across the back of the hand at its widest. If the two results suggest different sizes, go with the larger. The 0.5–1.0cm stated error range means boundary readings should be retaken three times before committing to a size.
  • This is a summer glove — rated to approximately 10°C and above: The ventilation panels that keep hands cool in warm weather allow cold air to reach the skin below 10°C. These gloves are not suitable for autumn, winter, or early spring riding. Using them in cold conditions will cause hand numbness from cold rather than from vibration, and numb fingers cannot reliably modulate brake pressure.
  • Condition the goatskin palm every 4–6 weeks: Goatskin dries faster than cowhide. A dry, stiff palm reduces lever feel and increases the risk of palm cracking under flexion stress. Use a goatskin-appropriate conditioner without silicone — silicone fills the pores without nourishing the fibre, blocking breathability and reducing grip on the lever surface over time.
  • Check the CE level against track or racing requirements before use: CE EN 13594 has two levels — Level 1 and Level 2. Racing venues and organising bodies often specify a minimum level for trackday admission. Confirm which level the AFS-6 carries before using at circuit events, as assuming CE certification alone satisfies the venue requirement may result in refusal at scrutineering.
Size Guide

Palm circumference — tape around the widest part of the palm, excluding the thumb.

Palm width — tape straight across the back of the hand at its widest point. Take both measurements and use the larger resulting size.

Size Palm Circumference Palm Width
S 16 – 17 cm < 7.5 cm
M 18 – 19 cm < 8.5 cm
L 20 – 21 cm < 9.5 cm
XL 22 – 23 cm < 11 cm
2XL 24 – 25 cm < 12 cm

* Manual measurement error range 0.5–1.0cm. If between sizes or at a boundary, choose the larger. If palm circumference and palm width suggest different sizes, select the larger of the two.
