LS2 FF910 ADVANT2
Dual Sport Full Face
Motorcycle Helmet

KPA Carbon Shell · Dual Lens · Double D-Ring · DOT + ECE + 3C · 1750g · Unisex · M–4XL

The FF910 ADVANT2 is LS2's dual-sport full-face — a helmet geometry that adds a peaked sun visor and extended chin bar profile suited to both road and off-road use, built on a KPA (Kevlar-reinforced Polymer Alloy) carbon shell that reaches 1750g at the weight of an ABS helmet with a lighter structure. Dual-lens visor system — outer clear lens plus inner tinted visor — operates without tools or stops. Double D-ring retention is the motorcycle racing standard: the strap threads through two rings and back on itself, producing a mechanical lock that does not release under crash deceleration forces. Triple certified DOT, ECE, and 3C. Six sizes M to 4XL, no air vents.

KPA Carbon Shell — What the Material Means
KPA (Kevlar-reinforced Polymer Alloy) is a composite material that combines the impact-spreading stiffness of ABS with para-aramid (Kevlar) fibre reinforcement. The aramid content increases the shell's tensile strength and reduces its tendency to crack along a fracture line under point impact — instead distributing force more broadly to the EPS liner beneath. The result at 1750g is a helmet that weighs comparably to ABS but with a tougher shell geometry. As with all polymer shells, replace after any significant impact — internal fractures in KPA are invisible at the surface.
👁️
Dual Lens Visor — Two Independent Systems
The dual-lens configuration uses a clear outer lens as the primary sealed barrier against wind and debris, and a tinted inner visor that operates independently via a lever. The clear outer lens stays down in all conditions; the inner tinted visor drops in direct sunlight and retracts at dusk, in tunnels, and at night. No anti-fog insert is listed for the FF910 — confirm with the seller whether Pinlock compatibility exists, as dual-lens systems without an anti-fog insert can fog at the inner lens surface during temperature transitions.
🔗
Double D-Ring — The Racing Retention Standard
The double D-ring works by threading the strap through two steel rings and folding back on itself under a retaining tab. Tightening pulls the folded strap against both rings simultaneously — the friction and geometry of the double ring system creates a retention force that increases under load rather than releasing. This is why D-ring is the retention standard for racing helmets: no buckle spring mechanism can fail under deceleration force because the lock is purely mechanical. The trade-off is speed — D-ring requires two hands and cannot be operated with gloves as quickly as a quick-release buckle.
🏅
DOT + ECE + 3C Certifications
DOT (US FMVSS 218) allows manufacturer self-declaration; ECE R22 requires pre-market independent laboratory testing; 3C is China's mandatory pre-market certification. The ECE certification is the most meaningful for independent verification — a third-party lab has confirmed impact attenuation, retention system strength, and field of view before sale. Confirm the ECE revision (R22.05 or R22.06) with the seller — R22.06 is the current and more demanding standard. Riders in ECE-regulated markets should verify which revision is accepted in their jurisdiction.
🏔️
Dual Sport Geometry — Off-Road and Road Use
Dual sport helmets add a peaked sun visor above the visor aperture and extend the chin bar profile forward relative to a road-only full-face — both features assist off-road use where sun angle and mud spray come from lower directions than road riding. The peak creates aerodynamic lift at highway speeds above approximately 100km/h, generating noticeable neck fatigue on sustained road riding that a peakless road helmet does not produce. The FF910 is suited to mixed use where off-road and road riding alternate — not to sustained highway touring where the peak becomes a disadvantage.
🌬️
No Air Vents — Thermal Management Without Vents
The FF910 has no active ventilation — confirmed in the specs as "Air Vents: No." Heat accumulates inside the helmet from both ambient temperature and rider body heat. At off-road speeds (below 60km/h) where the dual-sport format is most used, passive airflow through the visor aperture is the primary cooling mechanism — opening the outer lens slightly at the bottom provides ventilation without full visor removal. On road riding above 80km/h, air movement through the helmet geometry provides adequate cooling for most conditions. In sustained low-speed off-road riding in high ambient heat, the no-vent construction is the primary thermal limitation.
Key Highlights
No. 1
FF910 vs FF901 — Which LS2 to Choose
The FF901 and FF910 are different helmet categories. The FF901 is a road full-face: no peak, 180° backflip chin bar, Pinlock anti-fog, back closure fit adjustment, M–3XL. The FF910 ADVANT2 is a dual-sport full-face: peaked sun visor, standard chin bar (no backflip), no listed Pinlock, double D-ring retention, KPA carbon shell, M–4XL. Choose the FF901 for road commuting and touring where the backflip and anti-fog are daily features. Choose the FF910 for mixed on/off-road use where the dual-sport geometry and D-ring retention suit the riding context better.
No. 2
D-Ring Threading — Correct Technique
Thread the chin strap through the first D-ring from below, then through the second from below, then fold back upward and pass under the retaining tab or loop. Pull the free end until firm all-round contact is achieved — the two-finger gap check applies: two fingers between the strap underside and the chin. D-ring that is incorrectly threaded (through one ring only, or not folded back under the retaining tab) provides significantly reduced retention and can release under crash loads. Check the threading sequence visually before each ride, not just strap tension.
No. 3
3XL and 4XL — Overlapping Circumference Ranges
The FF910 size chart shows 3XL at 61–62cm and 4XL at 62–63cm — the boundary at 62cm appears in both ranges. If your measurement is exactly 62cm, both 3XL and 4XL are listed as options. In this case, try both sizes if possible — the EPS mould shape difference between 3XL and 4XL governs which fits your skull anatomy at that circumference. If trying on before purchase is not possible, order 4XL: the larger shell can be adjusted inward with a thicker comfort liner if there is marginal excess space, while a 3XL that is genuinely tight at 62cm cannot be expanded.
No. 4
Peak at Highway Speed — Neck Load
The dual-sport peak creates aerodynamic lift at sustained road speeds above approximately 100km/h — the airflow striking the peak's underside generates upward force on the front of the helmet that the neck muscles must counteract continuously. On a 20-minute off-road section this is imperceptible; on a 2-hour highway transit it produces cumulative neck fatigue. Riders using the FF910 primarily on road with occasional off-road sections should factor in the proportion of time spent at highway speed — if highway touring is the dominant use case, a peakless road full-face such as the FF901 is the more appropriate selection.
No. 5
Confirm Anti-Fog Capability Before Cold-Weather Use
The FF910 specification does not list Pinlock compatibility or any anti-fog insert. The dual-lens system provides some anti-fog benefit through the air gap between inner and outer lenses — but without a sealed Pinlock insert, moisture can enter that gap. In cold riding conditions where exhaled breath condensation is significant (below 10°C), the inner lens surface may fog if the gap is not sealed. Confirm with the seller whether the FF910's inner lens is Pinlock-compatible before winter use — if not, a separate anti-fog spray on the inner lens is the alternative approach.
No. 6
No Vents — Managing Heat at Low Off-Road Speeds
At trail speeds below 40km/h, passive aerodynamic airflow through the helmet shell is minimal and the no-vent construction allows heat to accumulate. The primary mitigation is the visor: partially opening the outer clear lens at the bottom creates a direct airflow path across the lower face and chin bar interior. At stops, lift the visor fully open. Cotton lining absorbs perspiration but does not move it away from the scalp — at extended off-road rest stops, removing the helmet for a few minutes allows the lining to breathe and the EPS to cool more effectively than any alternative while wearing it.
Construction Zone Detail
01
KPA Shell — Post-Impact Inspection
KPA's aramid reinforcement makes the shell more resistant to fracture propagation than standard ABS — under point impact, the fibre structure distributes the load rather than cracking along a direct line. This means surface cracks may be smaller or absent compared to ABS after the same impact energy. Do not interpret a smaller surface crack as indicating less underlying damage. Run fingers across the shell under direct bright light; any texture anomaly at the crown, forehead, or chin bar warrants replacement regardless of size. EPS condition is the critical unknown after any significant impact.
02
Dual Lens — Inner Lens Fogging
Without a confirmed Pinlock seal, the air gap between inner and outer lenses is not fully sealed. In cold conditions, exhaled breath can enter this gap from the chin bar aperture and condense on the inner lens surface — which is cooler than the outer lens because it faces the EPS interior rather than the warm air inside the helmet. The symptom is fogging that appears on the inner surface of the inner tinted visor, not the outer clear lens. This fog cannot be cleared by cracking the visor slightly — the moisture is already inside the dual-lens gap. Anti-fog spray applied to the inner lens surface before cold-weather riding reduces this risk.
03
D-Ring — Annual Metal Inspection
The two D-rings are steel — inspect them annually for corrosion, deformation, or burring at the inner edge where the strap threads. A burr on the inner ring edge cuts into the strap fabric over time, weakening the strap at the threading point — the most stressed location during a crash. Salt from road spray and sweat from the chin strap accelerates corrosion in the ring's interior where visual inspection is difficult. Thread the strap through slowly and feel for resistance — a ring that catches the strap during threading has developed interior surface damage. Replace the chin strap assembly if any catches are found.
04
Peak — Mounting Points and Inspection
The dual-sport peak mounts to the shell at two or four screw points above the visor aperture. On an off-road-used helmet, these mounting points experience repeated vibration and occasional direct impact from branches and debris. Inspect the peak mounting screws at the start of each riding season — a loose screw allows the peak to vibrate at road speeds, generating noise and progressive stress on the remaining screws. Tighten hand-tight; over-tightening into the ABS shell strips the screw seat in the plastic. If a mounting point has stripped, replace the peak before further riding — a peak that detaches at highway speed becomes a hazard.
05
Cotton Lining — Washing in a No-Vent Helmet
A no-vent helmet accumulates moisture and heat in the lining faster than a vented design because there is no active airflow path to carry moisture away during riding. Cotton absorbs rather than wicks — after long hot rides the lining holds significant perspiration that does not evaporate between rides if the helmet is stored closed. Store the helmet visor-open between uses to allow the cotton to breathe. If the lining is removable, wash cold on a delicate cycle and air dry. If not removable, wipe the accessible lining surface and allow the helmet to sit open for several hours after each long ride before storage.
06
Dual-Sport Use — Mud and Visor Sealing
Off-road use exposes the visor gasket to mud and fine particulate that accumulates at the visor seal line. Mud that dries in the gasket channel compresses the gasket unevenly — creating gaps that allow wind ingress when the helmet is subsequently used on road. After each off-road ride, remove the visor and clean the gasket channel with a damp cloth before the mud dries. Do not use compressed air to clean the gasket channel — high-pressure air forces particulate further into the gasket material and accelerates its hardening. Inspect the gasket perimeter for uniform compression annually; replace sections that show visible flattening or cracking.

  • Check D-ring threading visually before every ride — tension alone is not enough: Thread through the first ring from below, through the second from below, then fold back upward under the retaining tab. A strap threaded through only one ring or not folded back can release under crash deceleration. Two-finger gap between strap underside and chin confirms correct tension once threading is verified.
  • Confirm Pinlock compatibility before cold-weather use: The FF910 specification does not list an anti-fog insert. The dual-lens air gap provides partial fogging resistance but is not a sealed system. Below 10°C, exhaled breath condensation on the inner lens surface is likely without a sealed insert. Ask the seller whether the outer clear lens has Pinlock pins — if not, apply anti-fog spray to the inner lens before cold riding.
  • 3XL and 4XL share a 62cm boundary — try both if possible: The size chart shows 3XL covering 61–62cm and 4XL covering 62–63cm. At exactly 62cm, EPS mould shape determines which fits. If ordering without trying on, choose 4XL at the boundary — a marginally large shell can be adjusted with a thicker liner insert; a tight shell cannot be expanded. If the helmet has perceptible movement when gripped and rocked at any size, it is too large.
  • Store visor open between rides — no vents means trapped moisture: A no-vent helmet has no passive airflow path when stored. Cotton lining retains perspiration between rides. Storing with the visor closed traps moisture against the EPS lining — over time this softens the outer EPS surface and compresses the cotton. Leave the visor cracked open after each ride and fully open for overnight storage. If the lining is removable, air it separately.
Helmet Size Guide

Measure head circumference above the eyebrows, over the ears, and around the occipital protrusion at the rear. Take three measurements and use the largest. Note the 3XL/4XL boundary overlap at 62cm — if between sizes, choose the larger.

Size Head Circumference (cm)
M 54 – 55
L 56 – 57
XL 58 – 59
2XL 60 – 61
3XL 61 – 62
4XL 62 – 63

* Note: 3XL (61–62cm) and 4XL (62–63cm) share the 62cm boundary. If your measurement is exactly 62cm, the EPS mould shape difference determines fit — choose 4XL if trying on is not possible. No S size available; range starts at M (54cm).
