- 1200D Oxford — what the denier rating means for durability: Denier (D) measures the linear mass density of the fabric fibres — 1200D Oxford is a heavy-duty weave significantly thicker and more abrasion-resistant than the 600D and 900D Oxford used in lighter bags. The "Cortiola" finishing adds a PU or PVC coating on the fabric's inner face, which is the primary source of the waterproof rating. This coating resists water ingress under light to moderate rain — not designed for prolonged heavy rain or submersion. The coating degrades with UV exposure and abrasion over time; reapply a fabric waterproofing spray annually to maintain performance.
- Expandable compartment — how the +5cm system works: The main compartment has a concealed gusset that allows the depth to increase from approximately 10cm to 15cm when fully expanded. This is achieved via a secondary zipper running around the base of the bag — opening this zipper releases the gusset and adds the extra volume. The expanded configuration increases the bag's effective capacity to accommodate bulkier items such as full riding gloves, a soft jacket layer, or hydration supplies. Close the expansion zipper fully when not needed to keep the bag profile compact against the thigh.
- Three wear positions — thigh, waist, and crossbody: The leg strap anchors the bag to the thigh using an adjustable leggings-style strap with buckle release; the waist strap (up to 130cm) loops through dedicated attachment points for waist-pack wear; and both straps can be reconfigured for crossbody shoulder carry. On a motorcycle, the thigh position is standard — it keeps the bag away from the tank and controls while remaining accessible. Set the leg strap snug enough to prevent bag rotation during riding but not so tight it compresses the thigh during long rides.
- Reflective detailing — passive visibility, not active lighting: The MC-0105 includes retroreflective strip panels that return vehicle headlight beams back toward the source in low-light conditions. Retroreflective panels are effective at vehicle headlight distances (up to ~150m at standard headlight output) but are not a substitute for active lighting in dark conditions. Keep reflective panels clean — mud and grime on the microprism surface eliminate retroreflective performance. Wipe with a damp cloth after wet or dirty rides.
