The Thunder 4 SV is MT's racing-lineage full-face helmet for street, touring, and sport riding — triple certified across DOT, ECE, and CCC standards, built on an ABS shell with a clear dual-lens visor, quick-release fastening, and a breathable polyester inner lining. The widest size range in the series runs from S to 4XL for all-season unisex use.
- Measure at the widest skull point — three times, use the largest: Position the tape 2–3cm above the eyebrows, over the ears, and around the rear skull. Tape angle alone shifts the reading by 1–2cm. The Thunder 4 SV runs S to 4XL; if your measurement lands at a boundary, choose the larger size — the lining compresses and conforms over the first 15–20 hours of use.
- Firm fit on first wear is correct — not a sign to size up: Even all-round snug pressure is the correct fit indicator. A helmet that immediately feels comfortable is typically one size too large. Pressure points that persist beyond 20 minutes at a specific skull zone (temple, crown, forehead) indicate a head-shape mismatch with this helmet's EPS mould — try a different model rather than sizing up.
- Check the visor lock before every highway ride: Apply upward hand pressure on the closed visor before riding — if it moves, the lock is not fully engaged. A visor that opens at speed exposes the face with no time to react. If the lock mechanism has become loose with wear, the visor pivot assembly should be serviced or replaced before further high-speed use.
- Replace after any significant impact — EPS damage is invisible: ABS shell and EPS liner damage from a crash leaves no reliable external sign. The 2.86kg packaged gross weight means the helmet itself is considerably lighter, but a lightweight ABS helmet that has taken an impact provides zero additional protection in a second event. Replace after any crash, drop from height, or direct high-force contact at the shell.
Measure at the widest skull point — above the eyebrows, over the ears, around the rear. Take three measurements and use the largest. If between sizes, choose the larger.
