MTHELMETS JARAMA
Full Face Motorcycle
Helmet

DOT + ECE + CCC · ABS Shell · Clear Visor · Quick-Release · Polyester Lining · Unisex · S–3XL

The JARAMA is MTHELMETS' triple-certified full-face helmet in a plain modern profile — certified independently to DOT (US), ECE (Europe), and CCC (China) before leaving the factory. An injection-moulded ABS shell, EPS impact liner, clear visor, quick-release chin strap, and soft polyester comfort lining combine into a straightforward helmet for street, touring, and off-road use. Six sizes cover S (55–56cm) to 3XL (65–66cm) in both men's and women's fits. OEM and ODM production are supported.

Shell & Feature Performance
🪖
ABS Shell + EPS Liner
The injection-moulded ABS outer shell distributes impact force laterally across its surface before transferring it to the EPS (expanded polystyrene) liner beneath. The shell's load-spreading function requires it to remain structurally intact — a hairline crack after any significant impact eliminates this function even if invisible to the eye. The EPS liner absorbs energy through irreversible cellular crush; the liner cannot be inspected visually for crush damage and must be replaced after any significant impact regardless of appearance.
🏅
DOT + ECE + CCC — Three Frameworks
Each certification applies a different test methodology: DOT (US FMVSS 218) allows manufacturer self-declaration; ECE R22 requires pre-market independent laboratory testing; CCC requires China's mandatory pre-market testing. A helmet certified to all three has been tested against three distinct impact protocols with different anvil configurations, drop heights, and penetration requirements. Riders should confirm which certification is required in their jurisdiction — the three are not legally interchangeable across markets.
👁️
Clear Visor — Optical and Seal Performance
The clear visor provides unobstructed light transmission across all ambient conditions — day, dusk, and artificial light — where tinted visors reduce available light and can be dangerous. The visor's perimeter gasket seals the gap at the chin bar and crown aperture; a degraded gasket is the primary source of wind noise and cold air ingress on full-face helmets at speed. If wind noise increases at a speed where it was previously quiet, inspect the gasket before assuming the visor itself requires replacement.
Quick-Release Chin Strap
Micrometric or single-button quick-release allows the strap to be operated with gloves on without threading through a D-ring. The retention function is equivalent to a D-ring when correctly fastened — confirm the buckle is fully engaged (audible click) before every ride. Quick-release is the system emergency responders use to remove the helmet without rotating or lifting it, which is critical protocol if spinal injury is suspected after a crash.
🌬️
Polyester Comfort Lining
The polyester lining sits between the EPS liner and the skull — it manages moisture and provides the comfort interface. Polyester wicks sweat away from the scalp surface; accumulated moisture and skin oils degrade the lining over time, matting its loft and changing the effective internal diameter. A compressed lining alters the EPS-to-skull contact geometry that governs energy transfer in an impact. The lining should be removable for washing — confirm this with the seller and wash cold on a gentle cycle, air dry only.
📐
Head Circumference Sizing — Six Sizes
The JARAMA runs S (55–56cm) to 3XL (65–66cm) across six sizes, each covering a 2cm range. Measure at the widest skull point — above the eyebrows, over the ears, around the occipital protrusion at the rear — and take three measurements, using the largest. The helmet should apply firm, even all-round pressure with no gaps between the EPS and the skull. Pressure points that persist beyond 20 minutes indicate the EPS mould shape does not match the rider's head shape — not a sizing issue but a model fit issue.
Key Highlights
No. 1
ECE Pre-Market Testing vs DOT Self-Certification
The most important practical distinction among the three certifications: DOT allows helmet manufacturers to self-declare compliance with FMVSS 218 — no independent laboratory is required before the helmet reaches the market. ECE R22 requires the helmet to be tested by an independent laboratory before it can be sold. The JARAMA's ECE certification means its impact attenuation, retention, and field-of-view have been independently verified. For markets where ECE is the minimum legal requirement, the DOT certification provides additional US market access; the ECE certification provides the independent testing verification.
No. 2
Correct Fit — Firm Is Right, Gaps Are Wrong
A correctly sized helmet applies firm, even pressure around the entire skull — no gaps anywhere between the EPS liner and the head. This pressure is uncomfortable for approximately the first 20 minutes before the comfort liner compresses and conforms. A helmet that feels comfortable immediately is almost always too large. An oversized helmet rotates on the head in a crash, exposing unprotected skull zones at maximum impact force. If pressure points persist in specific locations (temple, forehead) after 20 minutes, the EPS shape does not fit this rider's head anatomy — try a different model rather than a larger size.
No. 3
Replace After Any Significant Impact
ABS shell cracks are not always visible after an impact — the shell can fracture internally while the painted surface appears intact. The EPS liner deforms permanently in any significant impact with no external sign — the cellular crush that absorbs energy cannot be reversed and cannot be identified without cutting the liner open. A crash at riding speed, or a drop from handlebar height onto hard ground, is sufficient to compromise both layers. Replace the helmet before riding again after any such event, regardless of appearance. The triple certification applies to a new, unimpacted helmet only.
No. 4
Visor Lock Check Before Every Highway Ride
The visor pivot and locking mechanism hold the lens in the closed position under aerodynamic load at speed. A visor that rattles at low speed or self-opens at highway speed has a worn or misaligned lock. Before any high-speed riding, close the visor fully and apply upward hand pressure — if it moves, the lock is not engaged correctly. A visor that opens at highway speed provides no recovery time and cannot be closed safely while riding. If the lock mechanism has developed play, the pivot assembly should be serviced or replaced before further high-speed use.
No. 5
Chin Strap — Two-Finger Gap Check
The chin strap must pass the two-finger gap test — two fingers between the underside of the strap and the chin when fastened. Three fingers or more allows the helmet to rotate forward under frontal impact, lifting the shell away from the crown at maximum energy transfer. One finger or no clearance indicates the strap is too tight, which restricts blood flow to the jaw and causes headache on extended rides without improving retention. Check the gap setting after adjusting for different riding jacket collar heights, which change the reference position against the chin.
No. 6
OEM / ODM Availability
The JARAMA is available for OEM (manufacturer produces to the buyer's brand specification) and ODM (manufacturer designs and produces to the buyer's requirements) arrangements. This is relevant for motorcycle gear retailers, riding schools, and corporate fleets seeking branded helmet supply. The triple certification (DOT, ECE, CCC) is maintained across OEM/ODM production. Contact the seller directly to discuss minimum order quantities, branding specifications, and lead times for custom production runs.
Construction Zone Detail
01
ABS Shell Post-Impact Inspection
After any impact, run fingers across the shell surface under direct bright light — micro-cracks read as texture differences that the eye misses against the painted surface. Focus on the crown, front forehead zone, and chin bar: the three primary road contact points in forward falls. A shell that has spread force from a significant impact has transferred that energy to the EPS beneath, which may be permanently deformed regardless of shell appearance. Inspecting the shell's surface is insufficient; the EPS condition is the critical unknown after any crash.
02
EPS Liner — Density Zones
The EPS liner is moulded to different densities at different zones within the same helmet: higher density at the crown and forehead where impact energy is greatest, lower density at the temples where distribution matters more. This density variation is calibrated for the specific ABS shell geometry of the JARAMA. The liner is not a uniform material — replacing it with a generic EPS liner of incorrect density would alter the energy transfer characteristics even if the dimensions were identical. Replace with OEM-specified liner components only.
03
Visor Gasket Maintenance
The perimeter rubber gasket that seals the visor to the aperture hardens and loses its seating pressure over time — typically 2–3 riding seasons in regular year-round use. A hardened gasket allows a gap at the seal line, which is the primary source of wind noise and cold air ingress at highway speed. Inspect the gasket at the start of each riding season: press it gently along its full perimeter — sections that feel significantly harder or show visible flattening have lost their compression recovery and should be replaced before winter riding.
04
Quick-Release Buckle Inspection
The quick-release buckle must provide positive lock retention — a click or snap that holds under pull force without disengaging. Test the buckle's retention monthly: fasten it, grip both sides of the strap below the buckle, and apply firm pull force. If the buckle releases without the deliberate tab press required, the internal spring mechanism has fatigued and the buckle must be replaced before riding. A fastened but fatigued buckle can release under crash deceleration forces, removing retention at the moment the helmet most needs it.
05
Comfort Lining Washing
If the lining is removable, wash cold on a delicate cycle and air dry — tumble drying degrades polyester fibre and dimensional accuracy. If the lining is not removable, wipe accessible surfaces with a damp cloth and mild soap; submerging the complete helmet in water risks penetrating the EPS liner, which absorbs moisture and takes extended time to dry, during which the EPS structure is softened. Riding with a moisture-saturated EPS liner reduces its impact energy absorption capacity until it has fully dried.
06
Helmet Lifespan — 5-Year Guidance
Helmet manufacturers and safety organisations recommend replacing helmets every 5 years regardless of crash history. The rationale is material degradation: ABS becomes more brittle with UV exposure over time, and the EPS liner's cellular structure gradually hardens, reducing its energy absorption compliance. The comfort lining's oils and sweat also degrade the adhesive bonding the lining to the EPS. A helmet used in regular sun and road-condition exposure ages faster than one used infrequently and stored away from UV. The 5-year guideline represents the conservative safe limit, not the maximum possible service life under all conditions.

Supported
  • Measure at the widest skull point — take three readings, use the largest: Tape above the eyebrows, over the ears, around the occipital protrusion at the rear. A single measurement often underestimates the actual widest circumference. If between sizes (e.g. 58.5cm lands between M and L), choose the larger size — the lining compresses and conforms over the first 15–20 hours of use.
  • Firm all-round pressure on first wear is correct — comfortable immediately means too large: The EPS mould must contact the skull evenly with no gaps. A new helmet feels snug for 15–20 minutes before the comfort lining settles. If it feels comfortable immediately, it is oversize. If specific pressure points persist beyond 20 minutes, the EPS shape does not match your head anatomy — size up will not fix this; a different helmet model will.
  • Check the visor lock before every highway ride: Close the visor and apply upward hand pressure. If it moves, the lock is not fully engaged. At highway speed, aerodynamic pressure on the visor can force it open if the lock has developed play — with no time to react. Service or replace the pivot assembly if the lock fails to hold under hand pressure.
  • Replace after any crash or significant drop — EPS damage is invisible: The ABS surface may show no cracking while the EPS beneath has permanently deformed. A drop from handlebar height onto concrete is sufficient to compromise the EPS at the impact zone. The triple certification applies to a new, unimpacted helmet — post-impact, the helmet provides unknown and likely reduced protection. Replace before riding again.
Helmet Size Chart

Measure head circumference above the eyebrows, over the ears, and around the occipital protrusion at the rear. Take three measurements and use the largest. If between sizes, choose the larger.

Size Head Circumference (cm)
S 55 – 56
M 57 – 58
L 59 – 60
XL 61 – 62
XXL 63 – 64
3XL 65 – 66

* Each size covers a 2cm range. If your measurement falls at the upper boundary of a size (e.g. 56cm = top of S), choose M — the EPS liner conforms over the first hours of use. A helmet that feels immediately comfortable is likely one size too large.
