Built for cold-season riders who need full lower-body protection — the SKP-710 pairs a polyester/cotton blend outer with waterproof and windproof construction, anti-UV treatment, CE protector pockets at the knees and hips, retroreflective night panels, and quick-dry fabric across a comprehensive size chart from S to 3XL.
- Size to whichever is larger — waist or hip: If your waist is 80cm (M) but your hip is 124cm (2XL), size to 2XL and use the waistband adjustment to take in the waist. Undersizing at the hip forces the hip protector pocket inward, away from the lateral trochanter it is designed to cover.
- Front rise tells you how the pants will sit when seated: A rider with a 32cm seated torso at XL (front rise 31cm) has a near-exact fit. A tall rider needing S or M for waist/hip but with a longer torso will find the front rise insufficient — the pants will pull down from the waist in the riding crouch.
- Confirm whether CE armor is included or pockets-only: The listing specifies CE protector design — confirm with the seller whether certified knee and hip inserts are included or whether pockets are supplied empty. Pockets without inserts provide no impact protection.
- DWR on cotton-blend fabrics needs more frequent reactivation: Cotton fibres absorb washing detergent residue more readily than pure polyester, degrading DWR faster. Wash cold without fabric softener and tumble dry on low — this reactivates the remaining DWR. Retreat with spray DWR when surface beading diminishes.
